Making dried foliage that has become brittle pliable again

Dried flowers and foliage becomes really brittle over time making it almost impossible to weave into a design without causing damage

Spread some lotion on the leaf

Spread some Vaseline Intensive care lotion directly on to the leaf

Cover the entire surface

Within seconds the leaf will be pliable again

Within seconds the leaf will be pliable again making it easier to work with

Spread lotion on all the leaves and set it down on a paper towel.

It is now easy to weave the dried foliage through the twigs in the design

It is now easy to guide the dried foliage through the twigs in the design. I use a nail cuticle pusher to make it easier to catch the leaf

Handle the leaf with care

But handle the leaf with care, even though it is now less brittle it is still not as pliable as a fresh leaf

Design note:
I use a flat, dried leaf because I did not want the leaf to extend outside the square cube design. It is also great to use dried foliage if you do not plan to provide a water source for the foliage but want it to keep it's shape
