Anchoring Mushrooms onto the design with a mud putty

Mix a firm mixture of mud by combining mineral oil and potting soil to create a texture similar to putty to anchor the mushrooms with the mud into the design.
At a pinch you can also use butter- as you would make icing sugar but remember the butter will spoil so it is a short term solution only.
