The concept of the Competition Class was to design "A New Age Child's Midnight Meander" but to use a contemporary movie as inspiration. I chose Avatar. I wanted to recreate the beautiful blue scenery in the movie and used the blue glow of LED lights shining on the large open petals of white lilies.
Each LED light shine from a Palm leaf Firefly (see tutorials on how I made the fireflies) and was fixed to point towards a lily to create the ethereal blue shade.
I also tucked a few ball jars with handles and a few butterfly nets into the design to create the impression that children were trying to catch the fireflies.
